Best Practices For Live Stream Distribution
Our kickoff meeting for this group will be hosted by AWS at 12 West 39th Street, NY (the former Lord & Taylor building). This brand new group seeks to establish best practices for content owners to manage distribution to the myriad streaming platforms they provide content to. Today, every platform has its own requirements, leading to a wild west situation with endless combinations of codecs, formats, etc. to manage, making it virtually impossible to automate the process of creating and managing this ever-changing landscape of live stream distribution.

RIS-OSA Plenary and Catena
This day’s meetings will be hosted by Dell at 1 Penn Plaza, Suite 2920, in New York. We will lead off with a Plenary meeting, bringing you up to speed on past, present and future RIS-OSA projects. We will then segue into our most active current project, Catena. This initiative seeks to create a standardized protocol for control of media devices and services, from monolithic complex devices to microservices, across vendors and platforms. Catena works equally well for on-prem or cloud applications, offering dynamic plug and play of media devices using a simple but powerful protocol. RIS-OSA has recently handed off the first of four Catena documents to SMPTE’s Standards Community for review (Interface), and has transitioned over to its second document, focused on Security.
