How are you getting here?

BY AIR:

Provo has a small airport with some commercial flights. The airport code is PVU. Currently PVU is only served by Allegiant and Avelo with limited schedules.

Most of you will arrive at Salt Lake City International Airport (airport code SLC) which has direct connections to most major cities in the US, some cities in Canada and Mexico, and to London, Amsterdam, and Paris. Visitors flying from Asia can enter the US at any major airport in the western US and connect to a direct flight to Salt Lake City. About 75% of flights in and out of the SLC airport are operated by Delta Airlines and its partners. United, American, Southwest, JetBlue, Alaska, KLM, and Frontier have service to/from SLC, but with a limited set of direct routes. Air Canada begins service between SLC and YYZ on June 3.

The Salt Lake City international airport is undergoing construction of all new passenger buildings and facilities. In June 2022, the airport will only have about 60% of its final gate count. Walk times in the airport may be longer than usual due to construction. The central tunnel connecting the two new terminals is not yet open and a less convenient tunnel is currently in use between the two terminals.  When you depart SLC to go home, you should allow for a 30-minute walk from the security area to the furthest gates of the airport. SLC Airport is currently recommending arriving at the airport two hours prior to a domestic departure and three hours prior to an international departure.

TRANSPORTATION FROM AIRPORT:

The distance from the SLC airport to the BYU campus in Provo is 50 miles (80 km). You
can get to Provo from the SLC airport by rental car, public transit (except on Sunday), or by hiring a car or shuttle service.

For those renting a car, all major car rental companies are available at the SLC airport. Normal drive time from the SLC airport to Provo is about 55 minutes. However, the late afternoon and evening commute during weekdays can significantly increase that drive time.

You can arrange for shuttle service to take you between the SLC airport and the hotels in Provo. One way cost is around $50 for a shared shuttle ride or $100 for a private shuttle. The following is just one of several shuttle services that operate from the SLC airport Express Shuttle Reservations - Utah

Taxis, Uber, and Lyft are all available at the SLC airport.
