Ilya Doronin started his broadcast career at Ostankino TV Centre in Moscow in 1986, after serving 2.5 years as a Commanding Officer of a Missile Launch Control Centre in Air Defence Artillery, as well as a Military Investigator in Criminal Investigation Department in Chief Military Prosecutor’s (Military Attorney General) Office, continued as a Chief Engineer at DeLuxe Video Production Studio for 4 years and later founded I.S.P.A. Engineering - the 1st Sony’ Broadcast Dealer and System Integrator on the market, before transitioning to Sony Broadcast & Professional Europe, where his 9 years of continued success at senior technical sales, marketing, project and product management roles was recognized with 4 Sony HQ awards for sales and system integration achievements.
After emigrating to Canada in 2000 during the next 19 years of his broadcast system integration career in Canada he participated in the design, installation, commissioning and tech-support of many Editing, Studio and Multichannel Playout Systems in these top tier Broadcast TV & Media Companies: YTV Canada, Alliance Atlantis, CanWest Television, Shaw Media, Corus Entertainment, Ethnic Channels Group and Nextologies.
From 2019 to 2020 Ilya worked at Imagine Communications as Technical Product Manager for Broadcast Playout Products & Software Solutions in Waterloo, ON office, where he also built Multichannel Playout and Ingest System for 3 x HD/UHD channels based on Versio Playout and Nexio/Versio Ingest servers under new Versio Automation control with Versio Content Portal, Nexio Motion MAM and Versio IOX NAS, with software based Master Control Switcher in MCR with Multiviewer (as in a typical MCR of a Media Company) for the purpose of Training of clients, customers’ operators, employees and testing of software upgrades.
As Business Development Director at Videosolutions Group, he is expanding the sales operations of manufacturer of Teleprompters, Video Switchers, Mobile Video Studios, Camera Cranes, Multiviewers, Fibre-Optic and Signal Processing Equipment, also being in charge of Product Management.
He graduated from Moscow Bauman State Technical University with Master’s degree in Radio Electronics Engineering and minor in Computer Science, he is a Certified Professional Broadcast Engineer in his home country.
Ilya is a Member of SMPTE since 2001, Member of Waterloo Region Electric Vehicle Association, as well as a Secretary on Board of Directors and a Member of Tesla Owners Club of Ontario since 2019.
